Rep. Laura Jones is honored to serve the people of her state and community. She has a high regard for New Hampshire’s superior laws concerning individual privacy and freedom.
Since 1991, Laura has served full-time as a wife and homeschooling mother. Prior to this, she worked for two years as a real estate instructor and for four years as an accountant. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton, graduating magna cum laude.
In the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Laura serves on the House Education Committee and is an active member of the House Business Coalition. She is a member of the Strafford County Legislative Delegation where she serves on the Executive Committee. Laura also serves as a Republican State Committee Member.
Laura holds memberships with the Rochester Republican City Committee, the Strafford County Republican Committee, the Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire, and Gun Owners of America. She has been endorsed by the Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire and by New Hampshire Families for Education.
Rep. Laura Jones sponsored, or co-sponsored, several important pieces of legislation this term that advanced the values of limited and accountable state government, fiscal responsibility, and individual liberty. For 2011, she received a score of 94% from the New Hampshire House Republican Alliance, and was ranked in the top seven, out of 400 representatives, by the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance. In addition, she earned an A+ rating from Americans for Prosperity.
She lives in Rochester with her husband Dave, a remodeling contractor, and their three children: Kyle, Spencer, and Skyler.
In addition to public service and education, Laura’s interests include history, law, and economics.
